11:00 AM - 12:30 PM    Letterboxing Club - Letterboxing Club
Explore nature, socialize, create, solve clues and contribute to the fun! Letterboxing is a 175-year-old worldwide hobby that involves "hiding" boxes in nature for other hobbyists to find...and finding boxes that have been hidden by others. We use a website to coordinate hiding and searching. Letterboxers leave their "signature" with a unique (often handmade) stamp and return the box to its original hiding place. Letterboxing is family-friendly with unlimited options for exploring!Letterboxing Club meets once a month to learn about the hobby’s history and guidelines, create materials, share resources, and learn how to use the AtlasQuest clue-sharing website. Some meetings may include field trips to search for, or "hide," letterboxes. The Meditation Meetup is a community joined by the intention to pause, to breathe and to practice presence. We seek to create a safe space for people to begin or to deepen a meditation practice and to connect with others along the way. This is a non-sectarian meetup and all people are welcome to participate, regardless of background or beliefs. At each gathering, following a brief introduction, we enter a period of silence-usually twenty minutes. During the silence, participants are welcome to sit on a yoga mat, chair, rolled up blanket, or something they have brought from home. After the silence, participants are welcome to leave or to stay for a time of conversation and tea. The Meditation Meetup is a community joined by the intention to pause, to breathe and to practice presence. We seek to create a safe space for people to begin or to deepen a meditation practice and to connect with others along the way. This is a non-sectarian meetup and all people are welcome to participate, regardless of background or beliefs. At each gathering, following a brief introduction, we enter a period of silence-usually twenty minutes. During the silence, participants are welcome to sit on a yoga mat, chair, rolled up blanket, or something they have brought from home. After the silence, participants are welcome to leave or to stay for a time of conversation and tea. The Meditation Meetup is a community joined by the intention to pause, to breathe and to practice presence. We seek to create a safe space for people to begin or to deepen a meditation practice and to connect with others along the way. This is a non-sectarian meetup and all people are welcome to participate, regardless of background or beliefs. At each gathering, following a brief introduction, we enter a period of silence-usually twenty minutes. During the silence, participants are welcome to sit on a yoga mat, chair, rolled up blanket, or something they have brought from home. After the silence, participants are welcome to leave or to stay for a time of conversation and tea. The Meditation Meetup is a community joined by the intention to pause, to breathe and to practice presence. We seek to create a safe space for people to begin or to deepen a meditation practice and to connect with others along the way. This is a non-sectarian meetup and all people are welcome to participate, regardless of background or beliefs. At each gathering, following a brief introduction, we enter a period of silence-usually twenty minutes. During the silence, participants are welcome to sit on a yoga mat, chair, rolled up blanket, or something they have brought from home. After the silence, participants are welcome to leave or to stay for a time of conversation and tea. Think wands, sachets, and simmer bundles to bring the summer garden scents inside. We’ll provide herbs and supplies for you to assemble the aromatics you prefer. Each purchased unit includes 3 items. PLEASE NOTE: Participants can purchase multiple units. Herbs include sage, mint, lemon balm, lavender and others along with seasonal spices.February: Cozy CandlesDate: Sunday, February 8Time: 10-11:00amLocation: Ridgeville Park Community House, 908 Seward St. Fee: $20/unitBring your own clean vessel(s) such as an old candle jar, tea cup, mug or tin and we’ll provide the candle wax, fragrance and decorative flourishes to cozy in during long winter days. We’ll also have some glass jars, if you prefer. PLEASE NOTE: Each purchased unit includes up to 12 oz wax pour, wicks, fragrance and melting supplies.
