Happy family in a park
ULIMI Tongue of Culture (TOC)

Vision
The children will explore Africa, learn an African language, the cultures of the different ethnic groups, their traditions, and the stories of the people. This cultural "African Explosion" will give a sense of heritage and pride. Giving African American children something to identify with.

Mission Statement & Goals
Our mission is to enhance the cultural awareness of Africa among African American youth to instill a sense of heritage and pride. Ulimi is a Zulu word meaning language. We chose to name our organization Ulimi because it stands for the fact that language and culture are synonymous with the arts. African American children need an African Emersion, an African Cultural Explosion, so that their language, culture, and heritage can be restored.
