Reba Park Native Plant Garden

This garden is being established to support local pollinators including birds, bugs and butterflies, along with the humans who visit Reba Park. Funding is being provided by Ridgeville Park District and a Love Your Block Evanston Grant awarded by the City of Evanston in May 2026.

The garden is being installed in three phases:

Phase I:
Tree: Liquid Amber
Bushes/Shrubs: Ground Hugger White Pine, variegated leaf Red Twig Dogwood and Aronia/Chokeberry
Plants: Clematis

Phase II:
Wildflowers and native grasses

Phase III:
Educational Signage • Rotating nature art installations • Bug Hotel • Bird Hotel

Join us at Reba Park (711 Reba Place, Evanston) for two fun events this summer:

COMMUNITY PLANTING DAY
Saturday, June 13, 1-3 pm - Join us!
Roll up your sleeves and help bring the garden to life! Volunteers will help install native plants and make this special park space even more vibrant. For our garden friends age 14 and up. See links to waivers below; we will also have the waivers available onsite.

CELEBRATION FOR ALL AGES!
Saturday, August 1, 10-11:30 pm
See the completed garden, learn about the plants and pollinators, create part of a rotating art installation inside the garden and hang out with your neighbors - Love Your Block! Crafts, snacks, nature activities, games and more!
