Seed Starting & Seed Swap
Date: April 24th
Time: 6-7 pm
Location: Kamen Field House
Whether you’re new to starting your own seeds or have tried a few things and want to explore your approach, we’ll be discussing tried and true tricks for starting seeds indoors to maximize our mid-west growing season. Materials to start a few of your own seeds will be provided.
Bring your extra seeds to swap with other participants. (not required)

Container Gardening & Seedling Swap
Date: May 29th
Time: 6-7 pm
Location: Kamen Field House
Interested in growing but don’t have space? Try container growing! Our Garden Programs and Education Coordinator, Laura Downey, will provide helpful hints, ideas on safe recyclable containers, a brief guide on what plants need to grow together in one container and a selection of seedlings (young plants) to get your own container garden going! Plant during the workshop or take your seedlings home to plant later.

Pickling/Simple Canning & Produce Swap
Date: September 12th
Time: 3-4 pm
Location: Community House
Ridgeville Community Gardener and Microgreens entrepreneur Austin Ulen will demonstrate simple pickling methods as well as basic canning techniques to help preserve your harvest into the cold months. Pickling herb/spice packets will be provided to take home and try out with your own garden bounty.
